Four Way Test Contest

Elementary School Grades 3-5 – Poster Contest

At the elementary school level there is a poster contest and at the middle school level there is an essay or short story contest. Each school will decide poster board size so size is the same for the whole school.

Schools involved:

  1. Fifth District
  2. Seventh District
  3. Mays Chapel
  4. Padonia International
  5. Pinewood
  6. Pot Spring
  7. Prettyboy
  8. Sparks
  9. Warren

These posters are picked up at the school the week of March 13 and returned by Friday, March 24. (There is 1/2 day of school on Friday, March 17 and Friday, March 24). There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each grade (3rd, 4th, and 5th) – These winners names will be emailed to me no later than Monday, March 20.

Middle School Grades 6-8 – Short Story or Essay, school will decide per grade

The middle schools will decide per grade for either the essay or short story contest. This will be consistent with work they will be doing at that time of the year.

  1. Cockeysville
  2. Hereford
  3. Ridgely

These essays will be emailed and you will have access to that folder the week of March 13. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for each grade (6th, 7th, and 8th) – These winners names will be emailed to me no later than Monday, March 20.

High School – Speech competition

We will offer a speech contest to high schoolers from four high schools in the Baltimore area.

The high schools involved are:

  1. Franklin
  2. Dulaney
  3. Hereford
  4. Loch Raven

Help would be needed to judge these contests. Each judge will get a detailed email about judging and there will be Zoom sessions to go over that along with questions.

Elementary level – Judges will pick up posters at the elementary level or and return them after judging.

Middle School – Judges will be emailed or pick up essays at the middle school level and return them after judging.

High School – Judges will go to the schools for about 2 hours to judge the speech in early to mid-March.

  • Hereford: March 8th – 1:00 p.m.
  • Dulaney: March 9th – 11:00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.

The Speech Finals will being taking place on March 15th at 12 p.m., where the Awards assembly will be taking place on April 11th between 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dulaney.
